Feeling Tired, Falling Sleep Despite Sleeping Longer Hours. Normal?

I am often tired often when I leave the house to go at a store for example, when I go back home I feel extremely tired but as soon as I enter the house I feel fine, I love computers and I mostly play games or surf the net at home however I also like going out but I can't seem to do too much or else I ( like I said ) feel tired, and I easily keep myself awake but still know that if I don't i fall asleep, my sleep hours are regular, although lately I have been sleeping longer in the morning. I go to bed at 11-11:30, usually wake up at 7 but these days I wake up at 8:30-9:30 without even noticing the time. Is it normal?

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

It is quite normal to sleep longer in the morning if an alarm is not set or anything.

Most likely feeling tired could be due to doing things which don't interest you or are too boring. You said you feel fine once you enter the house and play games, surf net etc.

However, if the tiredness persists, it might be worthwhile to test your blood sugar levels, hemoglobin, blood pressure reading, etc.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan
