Feeling Of Salt In Right Side Of Tongue, Bad Smell From Mouth. What Could Be The Problem?

I have a feeling of salt while gulping and a feeling of blisters on the edge of my right side of my tongue .This has been for over a month now.I get a very bad smell from my mouth which irritates me further.I had checked with a dentist to which he said its not a dental problem and also i drink over 3 litres of water a day.I need to know the reason to which such a problem can occur.

Hello,
Thanks for writing in,
I read your query, it seems that you have apthous ulcers.
Causes of this could be-
1.vitamin deficiency.
2.medications.
3.stress
4.poor oral hygiene.etc...
So i will suggest you you can follow few thing for relief-
1.Take plenty of water.
2.Take multivitamins.
3.maintain good oral hygiene.
4.can apply mucopain/dologel.
nothing to get worried, can visit another dentist for second opinion, because after proper clinical examination only final diagnosis can be done.
Take Care.

Dentist, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. Chaithanyaa Nemaly's  Response
Hello there... There are various reasons for that...Please mention your age? ...Since you have already got yourself examined from a dental surgeon the other reason could be from the upper respiratory tract...Salty discharge could happen if you have upper respiratory tract infections.Post nasal discharge that runs down through your nasopharynx would taste salty...and you would appreciate it more when you lie in the supine position .. Person with chronic sinusitis would also have bad breadth from their mouth... If the dental examination has ruled out your problem visit an ENT for further evaluation or visit a Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for further management.
