Feeling Of Fogginess, Brain Does Not Seem To Respond To Changes, Have Unclear Thinking, No Improvement With Good Sleep. What Could Be The Cause?

Hello doctor, I from a couple of days, I have this situation wherein I feel foggy and my brain doesn t seem to really comprehend what s happening around me. It feels like there s some cotton inside of my head that is preventing me from thinking clearly. It feels like a good night s sleep will clear it out, but that does not happen. Please, help me out. I am starting to feel a little tensed and scared about it.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms.

Your symptoms could be related to anxiety or lack of sleep.

In addition, we need to exclude lack of blood flow to brain ischemia), vitamin B12 deficiency or thyroid deficiency.

You need to get a complete neurological examination done by a neurologist.

After that, you may require MRI brain, vitamin B12 level, and thyroid profile tests in order to make a definite diagnosis.

There are good treatments available to treat all the above disorders. So, you need not worry.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM (Neurology)
