Feeling Dizzy, Headache, Rapid Eye Movement. Should I Be Worried?

Hi. I woke up a coulple of times this morning feeling dizzy. Then I had three different moments where my eyes rapidly moved back and forth so I couldn t focus and the room was moving. Everything was rapid and blurred and i had to stay lay down til it went. Have a slight headache now and feel a bit sick. Is this eye movement and vision experience something I should worry about? Thanks.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

The most likely reason for your symptoms is positional vertigo.

In this condition, there is episodic dizziness, which is aggravated by sudden head or neck movements. Accompanying nausea or vomiting may be present.

Your eye symptoms are referred to as oscillopsia (movement of objects), which is due to nystagmus (back and forth movement of eyes). This is part of positional vertigo.
There is no need to worry at present, a this condition is self limiting in nature and improves on its own. However, if it recurs, you may consult a doctor.
