Dear Doctor,
My query is, perhaps, a simple one, but, to date, no doctor has been able to help me. I get anxious that I am going to fall and I am constantly up-tight when walking. I used to love country-walking and found it very relaxing, but not anymore. This has been gradually coming on for past 7-to-8 years and an osteopath whom I attended told me that the stress muscle in my neck was not relaxing and asked how was my walking in the house. It is ok in the house, but not on the public paths or even on the beach, although it is better on the beach because of the sand. I feel I should be able to relax more, but seem unable to do so, and every magazine I read advises one to walk. Is there anything at all you could suggest? Perhaps Yoga or Pilates, but I would have to travel by car for something like that as there are no classes in my locality. The swimming pool is within walking distance but even walking around the pool is very stressful for me, but the swimming is, indeed, very relaxing. Thank you,
sincerely,
Annemarie Malone
