HI , There is no relation between the hysterectomy done 8 yrs ago and the gaseous trouble you get in the abdomen now.Why dont you try antacids, and laxatives ?
yOU also need to modify your diet.Eat plenty of fibres , leafy vegetables, fruits and drink lots of water everyday

welcome to HealthcareMagic
Since you got operated for hysterectomy in 2003 there should be no pain related to it .The pain & discomfort if mild canalso be caused by gaseous distention of stomach or acidity. Please take a antacid & see if it gives relief .But if it is not relieved or is giving more trouble get a Ultrasound done for diagnosis & consult your doctor for treatment.
