Family History Of Heart Disease. Have Chest Pain, High BP And Cholesterol, Crawling Feeling In Hand

Hi, i am a 30 yr old female with plenty of eart disease in both sides of family. I have been having chest pain/ tightness/ pressure for the past month. I have high BP and high cholesterol. Have had EKG, echo stress, vq scan, ddiemer test (ddiemer test was slightly positive) done with negative results. No problems they see causin the chest pain. But I have this odd feeling in my left hand randomly recently. Best way to describe the feeling is of something crawling in my vein, like something is traveling trough my viens. Single to double crawling feeling, not my entire hand. I have one more test to do -ct heart angiogram. I hope this will show what is going on. Any info/advice about the new crawling feeling would be great.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Coronary Artery disease is uncommon (not unknown) in fertile women...
That and Pulmonary embolism have practically been excluded -

CT angio is non-invasive study for the anatomy...
The ideal non-invasive way to evaluate ischemia [to assess the PHYSIOLOGY – function] is TMT (Treadmill Exercise EKG) with thallium isotope. It will show whether the blood is arriving at the heart muscle.

You may have to see a Neurologist – MRI of neck spine (Cervical spondylosis), Hand x-ray (carpal tunnel),
EMG and/or nerve conduction can clinch the diagnosis. If no clues, Psychological assessment may throw some light...

Aggressive management of risk factors will go a long way...

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Thanks for your question

You might need a stress thallium test to rule out any ischemic cause of the pain, however, CT angiogram will tell a lot about your symptoms if those are due to coronary artery disease.

Get your blood pressure checked in both arms and if there is a difference of 20mm of Hg in systolic values on both sides, consult a cardiologist.
Get your blood sugar levels checked in fasting
Get your spine checked at the neck level

hope that answers your question
In case of any query feel free to contact

Thanks
