Falling Nail After Being Diagnosed With Fungal Nail Infection. Should I Put A Plaster To Hold It In Place?

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with a fungal nail infection of two fingernails. I went for a blood test today to see if my liver and lungs can handle the tablets that the doctor would like to give me for this. However, one of my infected fingernails is currently gradually falling off and sore when I knock it. Should I remove the nail, as it is literally falling off right now, or should I put a plaster on it to hold it in place?

Hi,
You can remove affected nail as new nail will come.
Go for full anti-fungal medicine course to cure nail fungal infection.
You may require long course of oral anti-fungal tablet as it takes little more time to cure.
Ok and take care.
