Hi,

Thanks for asking the query,

As you have mentioned that the patient is on mycobutin it causes saliva to turn brownish which is harmless but causes permanent stains on the teeth. I would suggest you to go for thorough scaling and polishing of the teeth. Ask your patient to maintain a good oral hygiene use antiseptic mouthwash gargles twice daily under prescription of his Dentist.

Take care!

Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Mycobutin can cause brown disclouration of saliva thereby brown staining staining of teeth.

Clarithromycin can also lead to tooth discolouration.

Please do visit your GP and get the medicines replaced.

Meanwhile,get a thorough scaling done.

Brush and floss your teeth daily.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Use chlorhexidine mouthrinses to gargle.

Take care.
