Extreme Bloating, Constipation, Distended Stomach. Taken Dicyclomine. Colonoscopy Normal. Treatment?
Hi i am a 20 year old female and have been having bowel issues for a while now. I had a colonoscopy done but the doctor said everything looked fine and clear. I suffer from extreme bloating and constipation (which has been going on for months now). My doctor perscribed dicyclomine but it has not done a thing! Please help. The bloating makes me lOok months pregnant (and I m not)

Constipation and bloating is a very common gastrointestinal disorder caused mainly due to wrong bowel habits. Constipation is a result of disturbance within the digestive tract which restricts regular bowel movements. Eat fiber-rich foods such as fruits and vegetables like papaya, orange, cabbage, beans, asparagus etc.Chew food properly so that it will be easily digestible. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water regularly. This will prevent dehydration thereby producing softer bowel movements.Eat plenty of leafy vegetables and salads.Develop the habit of bowel evacuation early morning everyday.Develop a regular eating habit and chew the food before swallowing. Do some exercise regularly. Avoid smoking and alcoholism and also avoid drinking strong coffee/tea, fried and spicy food. Try to have a tension free and relaxed mind. You can take antacids and mild laxatives .
