Experiencing Sand In Eyes With Redness. What Medication Is The Best?
For 3-4 weeks, I have experienced more "sand" than usual in my eyes, and not just upon waking. There's some redness and "weeping" at the carbuncles. Sometimes a bit of the crusty stuff will embed itself into the skin along the carbuncle and it's hard to get rid of. Are there OTC products I can try before going to doc & drugs route?
I am so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing with your eyes. From the information you have provided, this sounds like a viral infection of the eyes. It must be differentiated from bacterial causes which needs a different treatment plan. For this reason, seeing your primary health care doctor for a consultation would be a great idea. In the meantime, eye irrigation solutions and antihistamines like Zyrtec or benadryl to help you relief the symptoms while you plan for a more comprehensive follow up with your doctor.
I hope you find this helpful. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to request for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health. Thanks. Dr. Ditah, MD
