Experiencing Pain On The Left Lower Side Of The Sternum
For the past 1.5 years I have intermittent pain usually to the left, lower side of the sternum with a deep breath. This usually happens upon first waking in the mornings, if I have been breathing shallowly. The pain stops if I change position/stretch or take a couple of deep breaths. I do have hx of GERD. I do not get SOB with the pain and it does not spread to the chest, arm or jaw.
The cause of your intermittent low left side sternum pain may be: acidity (as you already have GERD), chronic inflammation and muscle spasm (due to wrong sleep posture, as you develop pain in morning).
It is better to get yourself investigated to find cause of the pain and start curative treatment for it. Till that time take treatment for GERD regularly with medicines like Omiprazole or Pentoprazole.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Wish you Good Health.
