Experiencing Pain In My Wrist And Have A Knot Under My Thumb

I have a small knot under my thumb in the palm area and one on my wrist on the thumb size that just appeared. when I pick up something my arm above my wrist hurts as if it is broken the pain moves. I went to the ER some months ago because of pains in my wrist and the pain would go up in the arm, I was given a brace and that didn't help now these knots have appeared. the pain is getting worse I had rotor cuff surgery and I still have some stiffness and pain in the shoulder area.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query
Based on your description it seems to be 'trigger finger' affecting thumb. My advice would be do exercises for thumb with hot water fomentation and few day courses of ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrypsin after having discussion with your doctor.
In refractory cases (after a fair trial of 3-4 weeks) I prefer injection cortisone around the knot.
Take care
