Experiencing Muscle, Bone Discomfort After Taking Vitamin D3 With K2. Should I Discontinue Them?
my doctor started me on a regiment of Vitamin D3 with K2. She wants me to take one capsule every other day. it has 5,000 IU of D3 and 45 mcg of K2. Today I took my second dose. I am experiencing muscle and bone discomfort in my upper thighs. Should I discontinue this supplement? Also, how much calcium and magnesium should I take daily?
Hi Welcome to health care magic. The doses of treatment with vitamin D3, calcium and magnesium totally depend on the requirement of body and the level of deficiency. You are having the symptoms may be due to the body's response to initial rapid supplement of the deficient mineral. Right now you should hold the drugs and report back to your treating physician. He or she will adjust the doses according to the deficiency state.Usually doses of calcium and vitamin D3 replacement are 1 to 1 .2 grams per day calcium and 5000units of vitamin D3. Magnesium can be given 1 gram thrice a day. The treatment duration is usually prolonged, exact doses and schedule will be known to your physician. I hope the advice will be helpful for you.
