Experiencing Hearing Loss Due To Ear Infection And Strep Throat, Also Have Nausea And Vomiting. What Is The Solution?

I had strep throat which quickly turned into an left ear infection (the first one I ever remember having). I had some hearing loss and oozing from my ear that appeared bloody. I was put onto a Z-pack and ciprodex. After 2 doses of the ciprodex I experienced further hearing loss and extreme nausea and vomiting. I stopped using it after 3 days since I was so sick with it. My strep throat cleared up quickly, however I now have constant ringing in my left ear (more than usual) and fairly significant hearing loss. I have some clicking in my left ear as well when I yawn. I went for my check up audiologist appointment and my hearing isn't within the normal range anymore. She also told me that my eardrum looks fine, no wax and no fluid behind my ear. My regular doctor told me it may take several months to regain my normal hearing, if I ever do. I'd like to see an ENT but I know the wait time is over a month. I have my next family dr appointment this Tuesday. Any thoughts or advice?

Welcome to HCM.
You have bloody oozing from ear indicates Otitis media.
There is spread of infection from throat to middle ear through Eustachian tube.
I would suggest proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulininc acid for at least 10 days.
Nsaid, decongestant is also required to relieve the symptoms.
Proper antibiotic ear drops is advisable.
Take proper local care of ear.Avoid swimming if you are doing.
Get examined by ENT specialist for proper management.
