Experiencing Frequent Choking In Throat

I have thick clear mucus the back of my throat. Ichoke when I eat and have to go spit it out. This is very bothersome. I don t go out to eat anymore because Im afraid I will choke in front of everyone. I do have many allergies but never had this problem. What can I do.

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Choking in patients with allergy is mostly due to angioedema.
It is sudden spasm of muscles of wind pipe and food pipe.
Most common cause for angioedema is uncontrolled allergies.
So in my opinion, you should consult allergy specialist and get done allergy testing.
Best treatment of allergy is identification of allergen and if possible complete avoidance of it. So to know the allergens, allergy testing is must.
You also need anti allergic drugs like montelukast.
So consult allergist and discuss all these.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
