Experiencing Dizziness And An Uncontrollable Shake Upon Standing, Have Psuedotumor Cerebri, Take Wellbutrin Daily. Cure?

Hi, I am experiencing dizziness and an uncontrollable shake upon standing. I have been experiencing this for quite some time and had a brain scan done years ago after telling my doctor about it. Nothing was found, but now it is happening far too frequently. I recently had routine bloodwork done and according to my doctor everything was fine. I should mention that I did not discuss the dizziness with my new doctor. I do have psuedotumor cerebri, papilladema, and take wellbutrin daily.

Hello,
Thanks for the query
I understand your concern
Dizziness can be related to fluctuation in the intracranial pressure as in your case. You need a detailed neurological evaluation including lumbar puncture which will determine the cause of these symptoms. Please consult a local neurologist who will help through clinical evaluation including investigations
Best wishes

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Shailja Puri's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,

Pseudotumor cerebri is a condition characterised by increase in intrecranial pressure but there is no mass lesion in the head.
The cause of psedotumor cerebri has to be investigated. It can be due to hydrocephalus, increased production of CSF in the ventricles, etc.
A brain scan will help to know the cause of increased pressure.
Increased intracranial pressure is associated with symptoms of dizziness and disturbance on standing.
hese symptoms are relieved by treating the underlying disease process.
So, investigation for the cause of pseudotumor cerebri is required to treat these symptoms.

Thanks and take care
