Experienced Extreme Abdominal Pain. Suspected A Fibroid And Ruptured Cyst. Pain In Vagina

Hi I am a 30 yo woman, experienced extreme abdominal pain on lower right side for the past 3 weeks. went to the ER suspected a Fibroid and ruptured cyst. GYN did a transvaginal and transabdominal ultrasound. Here are the impressions: Bulky heterogeneous uterus secodary to several large fibroids. The largest is within the right lateral fundus measuring 6.3x4.1x5.5 cm in diameter. There is no visualizaion of the endometrium due to distorted uterine anatomy. No visualization of right ovary and very poorly seen left. small volume of free fluid in the cul-de-sac which may be related to recently ruptured cyst. I am still in pain no to little pain when laying down increased pain while sitting in the lower abdomen as well as pain in vagina/urethra area. please help b/c i am at the end of my rope i don t want to continue on pain meds. i can t function

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Fibroids can present with symptoms like pain abdomen, menorrhagia etc symptoms.
The treatment options depends on,
Symptoms
Age
Parity
Number and size of the fibroids.

As you are having multiple fibroids, with severe pain abdomen,
-If you are not completed your family, you can use hormonal pills for few months.
And see whether they can decrease the size of fibroids and symptoms.
-If you completed the family, discuss the need for hysterectomy with your doctor and proceed according to her advice.
Take care.
