Excessive Sweating, Palpitations. High Thyroid Levels, Low Sodium. Improvement After Hormone Therapy. Will This Reoccur?

I get very sweaty on my face; my forehead will get wet and my hair also gets wet. Several years ago, I had an episode where I got hot like this, but I also had palpatations. My thyroid was too high and my sodium was too low. When I went off of hormone therapy, I experienced the sweating for about 9-12 months and then it stopped. Could that start up again. It has become very annoying.

Hello

Well i dont know youur age , menopausal hot flushes are common , in which you get seevere sweating then body gets cool down , and YES hypothyroidism with high TSh can exaggerate your hot flushes .

In hypothyroidism , sodium level decreases due to water retention and hence dilutional low sodium , with increase in body weight

Thyroxine will normalize your tsh , sodium , with loss of weight + control on hot flushes

Hot flushes come and go , with high recurrence rate , but venlafaxine will stop them once and for all .

Hope this helps
