Hello, Thanks for writing to us, Regarding your first query about knee pain I do not recommend synvisc injections in all cases with osteoarthritis if the knee. As you rightly said, It does solve the pain permanently and primary cause is not been taken care of. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease of the joints where the cartilage wears out and causes pain on friction. Permanent solution to this can only be knee replacement surgery (Partial or total will depend on amount of joint involved). Synvisc injections I recommend only in patients who are not ready for surgery and need to buy time either because they are scared of surgery or because they cant afford it.
