Elevated monocytes. Arthritis in both big toes. Surgery required. Caused by elevated monocytes?

My last lab report showed I have elevated monocytes 17 H, range 4-13. My family doctor told me to show it to my ENT doctor who showed no interest in this report. Two days ago I saw a podiatrist who told me I have arthritis in both big toes and for best results I need surgery on the right toe due to deterioration. Could this be related to elevated monocytes?
