Electric Shock Sensation From Hip To Leg. Soreness In Calf, Hurts To Walk. Suggestions?

Last week I was walking and felt what I can only describe as an electrical shock going down my leg. It started about the hip area and traveled down the side of my leg and then behind the knee and stopped at the lower calf area. Ever since, I have had a soreness in my calf and when I walk, it hurts and I walk with a limp. It even hurts at night.

Hi there ~

You seem to have sciatica, which may be caused due to various reasons. The National Institute of Health has a website catering to answering many of your questions. The weblink is :

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001706/

I hope this helps. Please see a neurosurgeon or an orthopedician as soon as possible.

Take care and have a nice day !
