Effect Of Combining Methadone And Xanax On An Infant?

I am very curious about the effects of combining Methadone and Xanax on an infant. A former friend of mine had a baby 2 1/2 weeks ago. The baby is still in NICU. I haven t spoken to her because I know she s lying to many people about why the baby is in the hospital. She says it s due to breathing problems because she delivered about 3 weeks early. I ve seen pictures of her. There are no tubes in her nose or mouth to indicate breathing issues. She does however have other tubes connected to her. I can t tell exactly where the tubes are because I ve only seen pictures. It also looks like there is some kind of deformity on the left side of her face about where her ear is. She was going to the Methadone clinic and was taking at least 100mg orally a day plus self-medicating with several 1mg Xanax every day. I want to know what kind of problems this poor baby could be going through right now because she isn t going to admit the truth. Thank you for your information.

Hi dear thanks for your question, and complement to you for being so much concerned about the baby you have asked, the effects of two drugs on baby during pregnancy .The drug Xanax, is a benzodiazepam which are know to produce congenital defects in new born baby.as for as methadone is concerned,it is an opioid and causes growth retardation of the baby, and baby may be born addict, and may have withdrawal symptoms in postal period ,which may include difficulty in breathing. Now you can yourself judge what is the problem of baby ,does he have congenital malformation of face or breathing problem, hope my answer will relase you from anxiety of what is truth and what is lie.
