Ectopic Heartbeats While Swallowing. Previously Suffered From Trapped Wind. On Lansoprazole. Treatment?

I am 45 years old and for the last week I have been suffering from eptopic heartbeats every time I swallow which is very uncomfortable. These continue on and off after finishing a meal for an hour or two. I have suffered from trapped wind for quite some time and am taking Lansaprazole which seems to help for a while but the symptoms come back. What could be coasuing this and how can it be treated ?
Thank you

Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

You need an endoscopy to evaluate the upper Gastro-intestinal tract - Oesophagitis, hiatus hernia and so on...
You need to investigate the heart - EKG / HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
The cause can be found and the management will be decided by the results of investigations.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
