ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi and thanks for the query,
It looks like you have perichondritis. It is infection of the cartilage of the ear.
Please consult an ENT specialist.
A swab of the discharge will have to be done to detect the offending organism and a sensitivity test will tell us which antibiotic will work best.
It may also be good to test your sugars since this particular infection is more commonly seen in diabetics.
If the condition is ignored for a long time it may result in permanent destruction of the cartilage.
Take care, Dr Kishori.
