Ear Pain, Hearing Problem, Blisters In Tube. Have Ear Tubes Inserted. Should I Meet Doctor?

Hello, my son had ear tubes inserted late June 2013. He recently complained that his ear hurt and he couldnt hear but then his ear drained for a couple of days. Now he states that he still cant hear. I looked in his ear and seen a few blisters around the tube itself, is this normal and should I take him in to be seen with his dr right away??

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
I suppose the ear tubes might have come out on itself and now he has another episode of serous otitis media.I am not sure that you can see inside the ear without an instrument called otoscope and you can make out any blister over there.
But still if you are sure there is blister then you must urgently make an appointment to an ENT specialist and get examined and take proper antibiotics.
Blisters could be because of viral infection but that needs to be ruled out and antiviral medicines need to be taken.
In doubt do reply
