I have had a sharp pain in my right ear intermittently over the past year. It always seems to be related to wearing my glasses - I have two pair, one lighter which causes pain, and one heavier pair which causes worse pain. Both reach the level of serious discomfort forcing me to take them off. After about 5-20 minutes the pain goes away. It does not happen all the time and seems to happen more with cold weather. I need to wear glasses most of the time to correct my vision and I am not a candidate for contacts or lazik surgery. I have asked the advice my PCP, another PCP in the practice, my eye physician and an optometrist. None of them have been able to explain it and it causes real discomfort.
