Ear Blockage, Ear Pain For A Week. Diagnosed As Impected Wax On Tympanic Membrane. Given Ear Drops, No Result. Suggestions?

sir i have a ear blockage past one week.i went to a ENT doc. n he said that its an impected wax on tympanic membrane.....he administered me an ear drop(otorex) n ceftzine.....but not much improvment occurs n also since the day ceftzin dose ends i've started feelin earpain at night time(the whole night).....what may i do????

Hello.By the symptoms you say a possible diagnosis is infection of the middle ear.
If you have not improved with cefuroxime by mouth, in my opinion another antibiotic (for example cefditoren 200 mg twice a day, 10 days) can be taken by mouth for treating your ear pain. Go to your doctor to confirm the diagnosis of ear infection and prescribe another antibiotic if necessary. I wish you good health.
