Ear And Throat Pain, Slight Bleeding. Growing Wisdom Tooth. Normal?
My wisdom teeth recently grew all four of them, but the one on the bottom left hasn t completely grown and i started feeling pain with an ear ache, and then my throat now hurts, and when i wake up in the morning i spit a tiny bit of blood , thats barely noticeable! should i be worried? the tooth ache is much less today, but my throat itches and ear hurts!
HELLO AND WELCOME TO HCM FORUM ,
according to the dental history provided by you it is clear that your lower left wisdom tooth has not erupted fully, it is impacted.
Therefore ,in such cases a gingival flap usually covers the tooth partially, which gets inflamed and infected with the food debris, causing pain.
Sometimes, impacted wisdom tooth, due to its abnormal placement in the jaw can impinge or exert pressure on the sorrounding nerve supply, causing severe radiating pain.
I advise you to visit an oral surgeon soon, he/she will click x-ray of your tooth and accordingly plan a treatment.
kindly perform warm saline rinses(3-4 times/day), you can even use an antibacterial mouth wash ,twice/day, this will take care of infection and swelling if present.
i hope i answered your query,
i wish you good health.
Hi Mariana,
Thanks for writing in.
first of all i would like to inform you,as the history given by you, your wisdom tooth is impacted,it means it is not fully erupted in your oral cavity and while brushing this area is not properly cleaned because of lack of accessibility,so bit of food remains there and causes infection, which will cause pain further.and this pain is radiating because this infection may exert pressure on surrounding nerve supply.
So i will suggest you please visit an oral surgeon in your area and go for complete examination done including x-rays.and one more thing wisdom tooth is an vestigial organ,it is having a very little role in mastication,so i will suggest you go for extraction of the same tooth.
Nothing to get worried.
Take Care.

In your case ,as you have mentioned, rest three had erupted well then it appears that there should not be any problem with this too.
you can keep it under observation.meanwhile do warm saline rinses and brush well in that reason.
If you find pain and bleeding increasing with time then it is better to consult a dentist and get a x ray done. This will actually help you to understand whether it will erupt in mouth or not.
Hi, Thanks for asking, As your one wisdom tooth is partially grown so debris gets accumulated under the flap covering the tooth. It causes inflammation, swelling and ultimately pain. Consult a dentist for irrigation under the flap(operculum), follow antibiotic coverage. Maintain oral hygiene and use antiseptic mouthwash. Do warm saline rinses daily for healing. Take care
hi... thanks for the query... your wisdom tooth on bottom left seems to be impacted... just go for an IOPA or X-ray of the tooth... if according to your dentist there is sufficient space available for the tooth to errupt, then it should be allowed to errupt... small procedure callled operculectomy will help the erruption to take place... take analgesics and antibiotics in the mean time... if sufficient space is not available, you should go for its extraction without any second opinion... to prevent any further complications... take care...
The above symptoms which you have mentioned are due to the errupting wisdom tooth. I would suggest you to visit to an Oral Surgeon and get a check up done take an OPG radiograph of the mouth. Take lukewarm saline and antiseptic mouthwash rinses twice daily. Maintain a good oral hygiene.

HELLO FRIEND THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR CONCERN HERE. YOUR CASE SEEMS TO BE OF PERITONITIS (FLAP COVERING WISDOM TOOTH). IT MAY BE IMPACTED AND INFECTED. YOU NEED TO GO FOR X RAY OF RELATED AREA , TO CHECK WHETHER THE SPACE FOR ERUPTION IS AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO BE GO FOR EXTRACTION. WISDOM TOOTH HAVE NO ROLE IN MASTICATION ANYWAYS. MEANWHILE DO NOT LET FOOD ACCUMULATE THERE, IT CAN LEAD TO MORE INFLAMMATION . KEEP AREA CLEAN , DO WARM WATER RINSES AFTER EVERY MEAL. VISIT YOUR DENTIST AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR ANTIBIOTICS AND ANALGESICS PRESCRIPTION AND COMPLETE TREATMENT. WRITE US BACK , IF ANY DOUBT. TAKE CARE
