Dry Cough, Shortness Of Breath, Vomiting At Times. Suggestions?

I have had a dry cough for about three days now. When it first started it was accompanied by a runny or stuffed up nose (only in the mornings). Now it seems to just be the cough. I wake up right after falling asleep gasping for air. Sometimes it takes 2-30 seconds and I begin to gag and even throw up.

Do you have any idea what this is?

Hi

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding running nose followed by nasal stuffyness and obstruction and there after developed dry cough with shortness of breath. your coughing was so severe that ultimately vomiting developed.

These symptoms shows that you are suffering from acute respiratory tract infection with respiratory dystress. Your total duration of illness is of 3 days. there may be associated-

(a) Pneumonitis.

(b) Allergic rhinitis with bronchial asthma.

This is appears to be an emergency and immidiatly G.P. should be consulted but meanwhile you may take-

(1) Tab Paracetamol.

(2) Steam inhalation.

(3) Cough syrup.

(4) Antibiotic - Should be decided by G.P. after your examination.

I hope this will help you.

Regards.
