Double Vision. Normal MRI, Diabetic, Nerve Palsy In Eye. Taking Methylcobalamine. Suggestions?

Hello Sir,
I am 46 yrs. male.
For last one month I have been facing double vision problem. When I close any of one eyes, my double vision disappears. I consulted a good opthalmologist and a neurologist, they told me that it is due to the vi nerve palsy in my left eye. My left eye does not move in the outward direction i.e. towards left shoulder.
My MRI is normal. I am taking methylcobalamine 1500 micro gram once daily. The neurologist has prescribed me methylpredisolone 16 mg daily. I am diabetic also for last 2 years.
I am using glasses with a fused left glass so that I can see properly.

I want to know if I am following the right treatment. Any suggestions? Doctors say that it may take 3 to 6 months to recover from it. I am really very nervous and want to know will it really recover automatically?

Thanks

Hello,
It seems from the history that you are having 6 th nerve palsy most probably because of diabetes.
This condition is known to recover completely by 3-6 months. In the mean time treatment is by methylcobalamine and other vitamin supplements as you are taking now.

You can follow the advice as given by your doctor as diabetic nerve palsies recover completely.

Thank you
