According to your sonogram report,oligohydramnios
is present. Placenta and the fetus appear to be normal. As the Amniotic Fluid
Index( AFI ) is 11, which is within normal limits, Maximum vertical Pocket (MPV) reading should be also taken. if API is less than 5 centimeters and if MPV is less than 2 cm. then oligohydramnios is diagnosed. Oligohydramnios is seen in 4% of pregnancies. Many causes are possible, both maternal as well as fetal, most common being utero-placental insufficiency
. Since you are in the mid trimester, you will need follow up sonograms to assess the fetal condition and to observe the possibility of any abnormalities that develop. You should take as much rest as possible and drink large amounts of water. Amnio-infusion is the last resort treatment for oligohydramnios, to be done only in expert hands. Have regular checkups with your doctor and follow advice. Wish you good health.
