Done Bone Scan Due To Ear Drainage. History Of Recurring Ear Infection. Harm Due To Bluetooth In Ear During Scan?

Hello, I had a bone scan a few days ago because I was complaining about the feeling of drainage in my right ear which has been closed after my last surgery [the doctor chose to do that]. I had had reoccurring ear infections and surgeries which lead up to deterioration of the inside of my mastoid area which there was no actual mastoid bone. My question and concern is this: the other day I had a bone scan performed and my Bluetooth was still in my left ear and it was on. About 10 minutes to the of the scanning process, there was this very bad smell to the point I was afraid to breath. when the technician returned to the room, I asked about the smell and his response was,"what in your head", I said no in this machine. He said well, first time for everything. In the waiting room I realized the Bluetooth was still in my ear during the scan. My question and concern is what harm could result from this experience. it has been a few days and I not only still smell the fumes but I still feel nauseous in my stomach. I cant get any of the Doctors to answer that question. Would you please enlighten me.

Hello,
Thanks fo writing in.

First I am not totally sure what bone scan you went for? I mean for imaging mastoids we do CT (high resolution) or MRI scan.

If there was any imaging problem because of your bluetooth, the technologist would surely have it removed and repeat the scan.

It would be better if you could type out entire report findings for me to understand your disease more clearly as any adverse remark about the bluetooth device causing difficulty in imnterpretation will always be mentioned in your report.

Hope this helps.
