Headache, confusion, sleep disturbance, constipation, etc.
The less commonly occuring side effects are reversible mental confusion, agitation, depression, and hallucinations.

You are therefore advise to visit the treating doctor for your son for possible use of alternate medicine like PPI with less side effects.
