Does Working With A Lady Who Got Treated For Abdominal TB Cause Infection?
I work with a lady that she has just informed me she had abdominal TB, taken her medication and finished in August. Which was about the time she started here.. Was this caused from regular TB? She said her vaccine as a child stayed dormant in her system and just became active.. I told her HR, but I have sat and visited with her, she I be alarmed?? She even sneezed when we talked..
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Abdominal tuberculosis is not infectious. Tuberculosis can affect all organs of the body. But only pulmonary tuberculosis is infectious. Since the lady is not having pulmonary tuberculosis, no need to worry for spread of tb Infection. Abdominal tuberculosis is not contagious, thus no need to worry for spread by her.
