Does Withdrawing From Amlodipine Besylate Cause Dizziness And Nausea?
My blood pressure is very low. PA told me to stop my amlodipine besylate 5mg.Seconf day off it woke up this morning not feeling good, dizzy nausea foggy not steady. Told to check in with PA tomorrow. Could in such a short while of stopping medication be responsible?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
No, these symptoms are not due to withdrawal from amlodipine. These symptoms are due to hypotension. So in my opinion, you should wait for 2-3 days more. You have stopped amlodipine. So your blood pressure will definitely be normal in 2-3 days time. Also drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Take extra salt in your diet to raise blood pressure. Once your blood pressure is normal, your symptoms will also subside.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
