Does Walking Prolong Injury Due To Hairline Crack In Tibia-PCL?

Hi!! I am male,22 and have a hairline crack in tibia-PCL. I have been advised 1 week rest by my doctor. I have my exams, so i need to walk. Also i have not been given any cast or support. Does this will prolong my injury? What should i do to recuperate asap.

Hello,

As you have been advised to rest due to hairline fracture I will say please avoid the walking more at high speeds. Slow walking is still possible with less weight over the injured limb. As doing speed walking with full weight bearing will lead to pain in the muscles more and damage to the ligaments and bone as well.

Once the bone heals exercise should begin with proper guidance to help improve the overall condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
