Does Vitamin B12 Deficiency Cause Weight Gain?

Hey Doctor,I was diagnosed with a vitamin B12 deficiency... I a 62 year old overweightand always tired man. Can the deficiency have caused some of my weight gain? And what is the max dosage of the vitamin can i take in order to gain some zip?Thanks for your response!Pb

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
Vitamin B12 deficiency directly doesn't cause weight gain.
But indirectly weakness, not interest i work, fatigue will make the person lazy and then sedentary life style starts so gaining weight.
If you are pure veg person, use eggs.
Because non veg diet has B12.
Veg diet has very little B12.
Consult your physician for alternate day injections of B12.
Tablets are also available now for deficiency which are mouth dissolving tablets.
