Does Usage Of Premarin Vaginal Cream Cause Cancer?
I was just prescribed Premarin vaginal cream by a new OBGYN in Colorado. I expressed my concerns about estrogen in pill form or cream as my maternal grandmother had breast cancer in her 40s and my sister had her first cancerous lump in her breast at 42 and just had a second lump in her other breast in March at the age of 58 and expressed to me to stay away from estrogen. I am in menopause and my symptoms are getting more difficult. I nixed the pills but took the cream and I m afraid to use it because of cancer. Is there really a link or an increased risk for breast or cervical cancer using this cream since I have the family history?

Premarin vaginal cream is prescribed to patients to reduce vaginal dryness & help easy intercourse. Since you have a family history of cancer (breast) you should be very careful about using it. Commonly breast/cervical cancers have bee reported only after regular use for two years or more.
Excess of anything is bad, never take more than the prescribed dose of medicines. Menopause is a normal physiological function & every woman has to go through it. The symptoms are natural so take it easy.
Stay active, get yourself engaged in outdoor works, events, write or read books, stay cheerful, dance & listen to music. Take a regular shower, regular exercises, eat healthily & switch to a healthy lifestyle.
Stay away from addictions if any, You can use natural medicated moisturizers or water-based moisturizers before intercourse. Stay hydrated & take adequate sleep.
You can take vitamin E (Evion). Do not become dependent on vitamin E supplement but try to take more of vitamin E rich food to help lubrication. Do not take alcohol or grape juice if you take vitamin E.
