Does The Tampon Cause Pain And Itching In The Vagina?

I have had my period for weeks straight now and I always use a tampon. I have come to realize that when I insert my tampon it hurts/feels like a shocking sensation when I insert it and then sometimes it begins to itch? I don't know if this is normal or not or what it could be? Please help! Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
Presence of pain and itching show infection, may be fungal or bacterial. Need to get examined. Smear test from vaginal secretion required. Antibiotic and antifungal medications required.
Use of tampon is not recommended as chances of infection are more.
