Does The Protein Drink Affect Heart Rate After An Open Surgery?

I had open heart surgrey 4 months ago. Started back at the gym, with Dr permission. Started having my protein drinks again. Two days ago, heart was racing for at least 45 mins. Went to ER, they didn't find anything. Can the protein drinks affect my heart/heart rate?

Hello and thank you for using HCM.
I carefully read your question and I understand your concern.
I will explain you something and give you my opinion.

You should know that heart beats are strongly related to stimulation of nervous system.
Excessive heart rate might happen for different causes to simple emotional stress, physical activity, coffee consumption or every energy drink that contains caffeine, taurine or other kind of nervous system simulators.
You say that you are using protein drinks. It is important to know all the ingredients of this products to be sure that are this the cause of your fast heart rates or no.
Proteins do not cause fast heart beats, but in general this kind of drinks might contain simulators of nervous system and through this way affect heart frequencies.

Of course that this high values are not good for your heart so you have to find the cause.
If I was your treating doctor I will recommend you to stop this kind of drinks. You have no reason to take this kind of supplements in you eat in a normal healthy way and do normal physical activity.
If this frequencies persist than you should talk to your doctor to arrange the medical treatment.

Hope I was helpful. Wish you good health.
Best regards.
