Hello I am six weeks pregnant now. When I was 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant I got a fever of 39.3 c or 102.7 f I took acetaminophen to bring down the fever but it kept creeping back up so I had to tAke more tynenol. This process lasted for almost 24 hrs then my fever completly went away. The fever was do to flu bug. Should I be concerned for the baby?
Hi, High fevers, often due to malaria or severe viral infections are harmful to the embryo in very early pregnancy. As your fever lasted for only one day and you brought it down, it should be no harm. However, it would be wise if you inform your consultant of this event and ask for a sonogram to check for fetal well being. Please take adequate rest, plenty of liquids and healthy diet. Avoid intercourse until the first trimester is over. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
