Does The Burning Caused When Urination A Symptom Of STD Or UTI?

I hought i had a UTI (never had one before but was assuming due to symptoms of burning while i pee and feeling uncomfortable in general for a few days), and my boyfriend and i had unprotected sex. he just told me today that he, too, is experiencing painful peeing but I m now okay since I ve started my period. we had sex about 4 days ago. he s getting checked out but i don t have money to get a STD test done. any suggestions? should i be freaking out as much as i am?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
I would come up with these possibilities for burning sensation during urination, these includes.
1 Urinary tract infection , diagnosis can be confirmed by urine culture and drug sensitivity test.
2 S T D , diagnosis can be confirm by VDRL test. Since both of you are having same symptoms so may be due to STD.
3 The other possibility is of kidney stone , diagnosis can be confirmed by ultrasound of both kidneys.
In my opinion consult a physician and get his opinion.
Good luck.
