Does The Antibiotics Taken For Infection After The Breast Reduction Cause Swelling In Calves?

I had breast reduction in may 2013. I developed4 types of bacterial infection and in both breasts that took 5 months to cure. I recently had some reconstructive work done on both breasts and have a staph infection again. We are waiting for 3 other cultures to develop and I am currently on cephalexin 2 500 mg caps twice a day. Is there anything that I ve mentioned that would cause my calves to suddenly swell, considerably?

Hello,

No. The antibiotics should not cause calf swelling. Please follow up with your treating physician to rule out any cause for calf swelling like thrombophlebitis, venous thrombosis, infection etc.

Hope this answers your query
