Does Teething In Baby Cause Running Nose And Congestion?

My son has been teething he s 14 months. He is getting his back teeth. All of a sudden yesterday his nose was so runny and he couldn t breath at night today the same. No matter how much mucus we get out he is still running nose and congested. All of a sudden he has a big spot that is red on his cheek around his eye. Is this from teething?

Thanks for the query.
Teething on its own does not cause runny nose and congestion.
It is the time (age) when infection are more common among children so we consider it to be due to teething.
Also hand to mouth activity increases which increases the chances of introducing the chances of the infectious agent in the childs body.

Coming to red spot , it need to watched by me to comment on that (upload the picture).
Generally teething will not cause any spots on the cheek.
It may be the possibility that saliva may cause this.

Hope i helped you.
