Hello,
This is Dr. Papaqako answering your question.
Thank you for posting your question to HCM.

Tecta (pantoprazole magnesium) is a very safe medicine to use. It has very rarely side effects (1% of the cases), and stomach pain is not one of the side effects of it, since it is being used to treat the stomach pain.
Some of the common side effects of Tecta are abdominal pain; diarrhea;; dizziness; headache; itching; nausea, ect.

From what you are describing, it looks like something connected with small intestine, and extreme pain is not a good sign.
If the pain continues, is not getting better or is getting worse, I would surely recommend to not take the medicine in the morning, and go to the ER to check the cause of your abdominal pain.

So to summerize, my answer to your questions is:
--No, that is not one of the side effects of the medicine you are taking.
--And yes, you need to stop the medicine and go to the doctor in the morning if the pain continues. If the pain stops, then continue the medicine as recommended and as usual.

If you have any other question, let me know.
Take care.
