Does Taking Insulin Cause Headaches?

I have type 2 diabetes and started on insulin 1 month ago and it seems like I am getting more headaches. Also my a1c was at 11.9 and testing in the 300 s now I am in the 135 to 180 and when I get down to 140 or lower I feel like light headed and like I don t feel as good. Is this normal?

HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Insulin by itself will not cause headaches or light headedness . It is just that since your body was adjusted to high blood sugar levels for long time and now it is coming to normal because of Insulin administration, the body is feeling ( falsely ) that your blood sugars are going very low .

There is no need to worry about this. Just continue same dose of Insulin . Make sure you keep eating small quantity but more frequently. This shall come down in 1 week .

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarifications feel free to ask .
