Does Taking Citalopram And Seroquel Together Cause Tiredness?

My mother has been on 10 mg Citalopram and the dr has added 25 mg of sere quail daily. Is it safe to take both at the same time? She has only been on the Serequil for 2 days but is feeling so tired that she sleeps constantly and she seems almost dazed.

Hi,
Citalopram is a sedative and will likely make her sleepy. Seriquel is an anti psychotic drug . It is safe to take both of them.
However, if she is feeling excessively sleepy, the dose of Citalopram may be reduced accordingly.
I'd suggest you to wait for 3-4 days and if the problem continues, you may visit your treating doctor.
Hope I've solved your query. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

Regards,
Dr. Sridhar Reddy
