calcium is necessary for bone and teeth.
but it should be taken in limited amount.
there is no data state that taking calcium can cause thicker leg.
so dont worry
take calcium as advise by doctor not ur own

I was told yesterday that I have osteopenia and am ALMOST at osteoporosis. I excercise daily, have taken calcium supplements w/ vit D daily and NO family history of osteoporosis. Will I be able tyo REBUILD the bone already lost ( last dexascan was 2007 ) I was told my lower spin didn t look good. I think they tiold me it was a negative 2.2 ??? I am very upset with this news as I have always been very athletic and try to take care of myself. I am 60 years old but pass for 50 with good living . I was told taking 10,000 units of vit D might help calcium uptake ??? What do you suggest ???
Hi Doctor, i have been prescribed thyronorm 50 mg, earlier i used to have lower back pain, after thyroid treatment the pain eased, however doctor recommended calcium tablets too, i am not having calcium tablets , is it mandatory to have calcium tablet in the night while one is taking thyronorm in the morning?
Blood tests indicate that my vitamin D level is lower than normal and a calcium supplement was recommended to take with the vitamin D supplements to raise it. Does calcium aid in the absorption of vitamin? I am aware that vitamin D helps in the absorption of calcium.
