General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels and hence, it is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) or congestive heart failure.
Side effects encountered with its use include: Dizziness, light headedness, tiredness, headache and dry cough.
One of the less common side effects of lisinopril (between 0.1% and 1%) is Erectile dysfunction. It would be better to discuss with your doctor if there are other reasons for the change in your erections. It can be overcome by use of certain techniques and medications and hence nothing much to worry about it.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
